Using features and teasers

92

Go to Dashboard —-> Appearance —->Design Options…

Make sure that features and teasers are chosen in the dropdown menu and hit the save button…

93

Now this is where you have to figure out how many teasers you want to show. Go to Dashboard —-> Settings —->Reading…

94

With the number 3 I have in the box that gives me the look of the above homepage. For example if I chose to have 10 posts show it would look like this…

911

Leaving a comment with code in it...

If you would like to leave a comment and you have examples of code you want to show, you must "escape the code". This allows the entire code to show correctly by inserting certain variable around certain tags to make them show. If you don't "escape the code" your code will show up broken, mangled, and it won't be able to be seen correctly. "Escaping the code" is very simple...

  1. Copy your code you want to show
  2. Click here to go to the site to escape the code
  3. Follow the directions, it's so easy
  4. Once you have the escaped code copied, paste it in the comments area where you want
  5. Now you can enjoy life

Go ahead, leave a comment...

Hmmm, I dont have this option. Nowhere in my design options is there a teasers area. Could I have an old version of thesis?

Could be, I’m running the latest version 1.4.2. Any version prior to 1.4.1 doesn’t include this feature.

Great stuff here! Searched everywhere for documentation using the features and teasers. Most, at least in my noob opinion left me more frustrated and asking huh? This was simple, straight foward and easy to follow. Thanx!

I was wondering if there is any way to add a thumb image to the teasers? I would like to add a different image to each teaser to make them *pop* a bit more…any ideas?

The teasers are wordpress excerpts that strip the post of all html. Check out this plugin and see if it helps..
